@ ClassiChelle - I said no, as in you are incorrect in your assumption that 1st gen with T-Mobile will not work.
Like I said,
ONLY THE 3G iPHONE CANNOT YET BE UNLOCKED. The 1st gen iPhone can be unlocked fine. Meaning, your iPhone can definitely be used with 2.0, and T-Mobile.
ALL 1ST GEN iPHONES CAN BE USED WITH T-MOBILE AND 2.0 NOW, FOLKS.
In fact, if you look at the end of the guide, I made the whole thing with a 1.1.4 T-Mobile unlocked iPhone.
