iPhoneBrowser is a horrible thing to recommend people use because a very large percentage of iPhone users are also Mac users, and there's no equivalent for Mac, MegaPhone/iPhoneDrive/Phoneview doesn't allow root access to the phone and disk for iPhone isn't 3G compatible.

SSH is great for everyone because it's completely cross-platform. Even if you were somehow running linux with an iPhone (that would be interesting) you could still SSH in.
