To show extensions in windows:
Start> My Computer> Tools> Folder Options> View> Scroll down and UNCHECK <Hide extensions for known file types> apply
Now when you right click on the file and hit rename it will show the extension i.e. mp3, m4a
Change the m4a to m4r and hit enter. Windows will flash a warning just hit ok. Just that simple...good luck
