Need usb filebrowser for iphone 2.1 pwnaged

I have recently pwnaged my 2g iphone to 2.1 firmware. In the begining the wifi worked but now it rarely picks up on networks, and when it does-as soon as i choose an app like safari or settings, it reverts back to edge.

So now to my main problem, I have purchased irealsms in hopes of using the landscape mode, since my iphone touch screen on the bottom doesnt respond(so in sms or trying to connect wifi networks with passwords or mail i cannot select numerical button or the return or space button). But when in landscape everything works.

Once i got the serial from irealsms, i realized i couldnt enter it because the enter button is on the bottom. So i emailed the developer and he has responded very promptly with another way of entering the serial.

One way was to use ssh or whatever with veency and/or jollyfastvnc, but the problem with that is i cant get on my home wifi with my iphone let alone find the ip address and connect.

The other way was to go the file:
/var/mobile/Library/iRealSMS/realSMS.db it is any my sql database – you will need a program to edit such databases and then insert in the table “settings” the key “appSerial” with value “your serial here”

Well now i have been looking for a way to do this via usb-such like a iphone file browser, and found some for mac os x(which im using), and i thought i found the right one called ifuntastic, but then it said something about charging 20 bucks? im not really down for that, so im looking for a free alternative

Is there any for mac? My girlfriend has a windows vista laptop, so i might be able to do it with hers...?

also, when i do find the program and connect it to iphone via usb, how do i find the /vat/mobile/library...etc because in these iphone file browsers they list them differently i think...

THANKS AGAIN FOR ANY HELP!
