I was in your boat dc. I originally had swirly working, then did some modifications putting on other apps and games on my phone. I did a lot of permission mods and messed with the safari download pluggin. After that, swirly didn't work and cydia wouldn't install anything. I repwned my phone with a fresh custon 2.1 and used the info provided by swakel and it worked like a charm. Swirly and cydia working again.
