I don't use onstar, but I often accidently hit the button on my steerwheel. How cool would it be to hack that microphone/speaker system and make it work with the iphone?

Anyone ever documented hacking the onstar system?

That would be cool, but it would be alot of work just to use the speakers.

I have a 2005 Z71 Suburban I installed an aux audio input into behind the dash, I have a headphone to RCA cable, plug the phone into it.....audio plays through the cars speakers (for music) crystal clear.

I also found out if I get a call it will play the caller through the cars speakers (obviously since I am using the headphone jack) but I tried just speaking outloud with the phone in my lap and the other person can hear me just fine. Pretty cool.
