That's not bad though, I really want one.

I have both the SwitchEasy and the InCase. I am currently using the InCase. The SwitchEasy isn't built quite as well as the InCase, and is a bit larger. The outside of the locking mechanism on the SwitchEasy can catch on things if you are not careful. It is made of a different molded plastic than the InCase, and the bottom part of mine cracked in half - I superglued it back together, and it is ok now, but not perfect. The InCase has no lock nor does it need it - when it is slid together, it is tight enough that it would not inadvertently slide open. The plastic covers that come with the SwitchEasy do give a unique look, but they also tend to stick to the screen unless you use a bit of talcum powder on the iphone screen before putting the case together. They also make pressing the home button far more difficult, even when you put their little circle stickies on the key to build up the button's heighth. SwitchEasy makes a clip that is ok, if you like to carry your iPhone on your belt.

The InCase has a glossier look, and is a bit more slippery than the SwitchEasy. There is no clip made for it (that I am aware of) and the clip from SwitchEasy is just slightly too large for a snug fit if you try to use it with the InCase.

With either case, you have access to all ports and functions. But, if you want to dock your iPhone (not just use the cable, but the dock) then you must remove the SwitchEasy completely. With the InCase, you can simply slide off the bottom portion and it can then dock. You can not do that with the SwitchEasy, because the split on it is front/back rather than top/bottom. As an alternative, you can purchase an after-market dock for the iPod, that has numerous "inserts" that you can then use to dock your iPhone with either case completely on the iPhone.

Both cases are nice, and will give you nearly the same look. Currently, my choice is the InCase, but that is subject to change!

I am also stuck between the switcheasy capsule and the incase slider. Here's is my situation. I work at the beach all summer, so I want the case to be pretty durable, and protect against dirt, sand, etc. Here are my pro's and cons:

Incase
Pros: thinner, people seem to think that it's really amazing, can be docked in standard iphone dock just by removing bottom
Cons: expensive ($45 with shipping; since I want the matte black I can't get it in stores), no included accessories

Switcheasy
Pros: much cheaper ($33 with shipping), comes with dock port cover (will prevent sand from entering)
Cons: thicker, not as snug, people say the lock breaks easily, can't be docked in standard iphone dock without removing entire case

So given my situation, what does everyone think I should do?
Right now I am leaning toward the Switcheasy basically because it's cheaper and comes with so much stuff.

P.S. People are saying the switcheasy screen protectors leave bubbles and stuff like that, but this is no longer a problem since it comes with a static one now too, right?

I don't think that either of these cases would be my choice if I was working on the beach. Neither will protect against the harsh environment of sand and salt air directly on the ocean shore.

That said, the InCase is available for purchase at the Apple store, so you don't need to worry about shipping there. But, at least at my Apple store, your choice for the Slider is gloss white or black.

The accessories for the SwitchEasy are not that big of a deal. Yes, it has a dock port cover. After the uniqueness of that was satisfied, I didn't ever use it, as it is just a pain to have to worry about popping it on and off every time you want to dock or sync. Plus, even when it is on, you do need to realize that the speaker and mic openings on either side of the dock are still open, as are the openings for the volume on the side, camera lens on the back, and the headphone and power button on the top. So, you are not talking about a weatherproof situation with either case.

Just be informed before you purchase!

Thanks for the info, but I want the matte version of the incase, which is not available in the apple store, so I would have to pay for shipping. So based on price alone, do you think it's worth it to pay the extra $12 for the incase, or should I just get the switcheasy?

EDIT: I looked at this one also (http://www.otterbox.com/products/ipo...case-defender/), because it's much more weatherproof, but it's so much uglier . Any suggestions on a good looking, somewhat weatherproof case? If not, I'll probably just get one of the other two, and just be careful with it. lol

I would get a cheap phone to carry on the beach, and move my sim card into it, and preserve the iPhone for other times. But, that's just me.

I guess that's a good idea, but I think I am just going to get the switcheasy. One more question though, does the black switcheasy come with the three screen protectors (including the new static one), or does that one only come with the limited edition green and pink ones. I have heard of people having problems with the non-static ones, so I want to make sure I am getting all three.

I have no idea what the SwitchEasy comes with now, as I bought it a number of months ago. Take a look on their web site, and you will find out. There was no static cling one from them. I have used another company's static product on mine and love it. The plastic screen protectors that came with my SwitchEasy just lay on top of the phone, and are held effectively in place by the case. The two problems that I had with them are (1) they make the home button difficult and awkward to press, and (2) unless you put a touch of talcum or baby powder between the phone and the cover, it will tend to stick to the phone, giving a less-than-ideal look. Using that hard screen cover is optional, though.

All in all, anyone's choice of a case is a very personal matter, and there is no "right" answer. A lot depends on the look you want, whether you want a "professional" looking or "rugged" looking phone, color, ease of use,... the list is as long as the different desires of the people who use them.

hands down the incase. I've gone through 2 switch easy cases due to either the lock breaking. I still use the dock adaptor that came with them, however. Now I can dock my phone with the incase case completely on.

Thanks for the info, but based on the cases alone, and not on the lock breaking, do you still like the incase that much better, and if so, why?
