Marriage by gays is their way to legitimize themselves and make them feel less fruity and less of an outcast and less F'd up against mainstream America. That is the exact reason why it should NOT happen.

Dude, you're all mixed up man. People who are gay are not doing that to be "cool" or "special" or "different". In fact, some studies show that you can be born gay, but that is a highly controversial issue as well. However, please, besides the typical emo at high schools who think it's "COOL" to be bisexual, gays aren't doing it for the image, or what other people think.
Do you know all the **** they get for even admitting that they're gay?? Look at all the people who are gay and in the closet, because they fear what will happen if they admit they are gay. It's because they love someone or are attracted to the same sex.
Not just to be 'special.'
And 2nd off,
Gays do not want unions or to be married because they want to 'fit in' or be 'less of an outcast'. Marriage is not only just a religious ceremony, it's a legal bounding contract which gives a couple many advantages with insurance, etc, etc.
Think if you had a wife, and they were in the hospital under a coma in a vegetative state. Regardless of your stance on the issue, don't you feel you should have the choice along with her family to choice whether or not to pull the plug? A husband or wife in a heterosexual couple has that choice. Someone's gay partner does not.
Just saying man, you've got a lot of stuff to put in prospective with this issue. Things aren't only to 'fit in', much less fit in with bigoted people like you.
I wish that Prop 8 hadn't have passed but I think it will be overturned sometime in the near future.
In fact, if you compare the literature with the Supreme Court rulings about Interracial Marriage in the past, it's almost the same. In 20-30 years we'll all look back and realize that this was the last step to true equality.
Letting any 2 people marry ftw!
