How to enter DFU mode?... when the Power/Sleep button is broken

I bought a 4gb iPhone and unlocked it a long time ago when the first methods of unlocking came out. Haven't done anything else since with new firmwares but during this time my Power button stopped working.

So I gave my iPhone to my friend so he can update it and install some apps on it. He was confident that he would be able to do everything even if the Power button didn't work.

Well it turns out he was wrong and now I have an iPhone that is in recovery mode (Wire to iTunes screen)

I installed 7.5 iTunes to try to recover to 1.1.4 but it gives me error 20. I've tried using ZiPhone to put it in DFU mode. I even tried this and it hasn't worked.

"Going Into DFU Mode Without Button Pushing: (on windows) Easier than timing the buttons just right!
1.) First download the required archive Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!
2.) Extract the archive to the root of your hard drive, should be C:/DFU/
3.) Connect your iPhone and ignore iTunes
4.) Goto Start - run
5.) Next type in “c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu”
6.) Wait for iPhone to show a “white” screen
7.) Now you may proceed to downgrade!"

Anyone know what I should do?

I posted this question a while back, and most responses I got were "You can't jailbreak a phone that doesn't have all buttons functioning to get into dfu mode." Through elimination, I found my problem was a bad logic board and had to replace it. Good luck!!

Does this method work on iPod Touch. I have one and I need to enter DFU to use Pwnage. Nice method by the way.
