i ahve done all the things listed above .... i am trying to get this thing working. i have 1.1.4 where would i find my downloads folder? i am trying everything!

In order to have iSlsk.app working you will need to perform the following steps.

Log in to your iPhone or iPod touch with SSH (Putty) and do the following:

1) check if you have “ioreg” binary in /usr/bin/ directory

2) If not download it from the link above and upload it to /usr/bin

2) Connect with ssh/vterm from iphone or however but run the following commands:

3) chmod 755 /usr/bin/ioreg

4) chown mobile:mobile /Applications/iSlsk.app/

5) chown mobile:mobile /Applications/iSlsk.app/*

6) Download libncurses.5.dylib from the link above and upload only libncurses.5.dylib to /usr/lib

7) chmod 777 /usr/lib/lib*

8) mkdir /var/root/Media/Downloads (if it already exists it’s ok)

9) chmod 777 /var/root/Media/Downloads/

This last one should fix your itunes import problem.(credit goes to Edward from Touch Podium)

10) ln -s /private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control /private/var/root/Media

11) Reboot your iphone.

Once you finished downloading a song from within the iSlsk.app and are trying to import, the app will crash,crash,crash!!!

The fix...

Goto iappcat.com and search for MNPlight,
I added this source to installer...
http://repo.mkv.mobi

Once refreshed I searched all packages for MNPlight.

From within that app (MPNlight) you can click on the ipod and change the directory to /var/root/Mobile/Downloads and click import
The songs will now show up into your Iphone’s ipod.

I just tried playing with this app.. Its a cool app. But I can't get things to work so I am going to uninstall in untill a new and better update.. You have to do way to much to get this app to work.. Should app should have waited..

i cant not get the files from downloads to ipod using MNPlight... any ideas?

i'm on a ziphone 1.1.4. i couldn't find the downloaded files anywhere, and i'm still very concerned that they are sitting somewhere taking up my valuable space, and i just can't find them (a very windows-ish problem to lose something in your file structure. makes me feel icky.) after reading this whole thread, i decided to go ahead and make a sym link for itunes_control from var/mobile/media/itunes_control to var/root/media/itunes_control and now i can actually see the downloaded files in the islsk downloads tab and in var/root/media/Downloads. still can't import, but i don't really care, i'll just use avplayer until the update. hope this helps someone else. and thanks to all who've contributed to this thread.

You need to manually create the directory,

command from ssh/mobile terminal from iphone

goto \var\root\Media

use su commmand (just type su)
enter your root password

then use this command.

mkdir Downloads

this will create a folder with \var\root\Media called Downloads

then follow the instructions for the permissions.

After you install MPNlight, click on the ipod from inside MPNlight and change the directory to \usr\root\Media\Downloads and click import.

Doh! not the /usr directory


/var/root/Media/Downloads
After you install MPNlight, click on the ipod from inside MPNlight and change the directory to \var\root\Media\Downloads and click import.
