As soon as 1.1.4 was able to be jailbroken i went ahead and did it. I'm using installer i have all the apps i need. Im running summerboard and customize they both work fine. I'm wondering if it's worth it to upgrade to 2.1 or 2.2 firmware and rejailbreak? I have not been researching anything about newer firmware or jailbreaking since 1.1.4 because i was content with what i had. Also is cydia better than installer? I would like to keep my nes emulator as well, is it available on the newer firmwares? I'm interested in the app store as well. Does that work with a jailbroken ipod? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The 2.0 and above firmwares are stable and work perfectly with jailbreaking, the AppStore works (it still isn't greatest). With the newer firmwares, Cydia is better due to it's stability (Installer is still in beta for post-2.0 firmwares) and has far more apps and packages than Installer. The NES emulator is running on 2.0-2.2 as well as other emulators. There are far more jailbreak apps on 1.1.4 but there's a lot of AppStore apps that can do the same things (but beware, there's a lot of crap in it that, somehow, gets on the AppStore, unlike Cydia/Installer which, in my opinion, are much better kept).

Ultimately, the decision is up to you.

I definitely like 2.2 but 1.1.4 was awesome. The good old days, . I would recommend upgrading to 2.x because of the appstore. And on 2.x,almost nothing is on installer. Its all through Cydia. I used to be a diehard installer fan, but now, its kindof hard to be.

i truly think the same, besides u think oh in 2.x theres Installer BETA, but its actually inferior to Cydia.

um installer is the WORST idea for 2.x EVER. it will cause nothing but issues. i dont even add it when jailbreaking anymore. cydia is where its at and 2.2 is FAR better than its predessesors. i also suggest upgrading as well

Definitely upgrade to 2.2, you won't regret it.
