I ahve searched the forum and couldn't find my answer to this. I am currently using a 1st generation unlocked and jailbroken iphone on 2.1 firmware. I have put several ringtones in my folder in itunes and synced with my iphone. Yet, I have noticed that it only did 12 ringtones and left the others off although I clicked to sync all ringtones. Is there a limit to how many custom ringtones we can have? When I have deleted ringtones from my ringtone folder on itunes and resync, the ringtones are still showing under custom ringtones on my iphone.

Are you running out of space? I know I had at least 15-20 on my first gen iphone. I only have 6 on the 3G but I will give it a try and add a few more to see if I run into this issue. It might be a firmware thing? I am not sure.

I have lots of space available. Yet, now it is only showing 8 ringtones. When I clicked on the ringtones that I wanted to select to sync with my iphone, that's when it selected 8 of them randomly.
