I have an Iphone 2g upgraded to fw 2.1 with cydia installed tzone hack. I don't see a place to enter my apn. When I go to settings/general/network, the only options i see are vpn, wifi and data roaming. I don't see any apn settings or where to enter them. Why is this missing from mine? Can anybody help me please!

At the very top of that screen it should read Cellular Data Network - select that and that should take you to an advanced screen where you can enter the APN.

Now, I live in SoCal and I don't need the tzones hack - I just entered epc.tmobile.com and it's working just fine... actually a bit faster than it did before with the tzones hack.

It's not under settings - general - network - cellular data network.... I don't know what to tell you, sorry. Maybe try a search on this forum, see if anyone else has had this problem.

You need to install "APN Editing" version 1.0 from Linux_insidev2 in Cydia.

i'm having trouble with the APN.

it's not longer available for me.

i tried to install the Edgefix 1.0 but i get:

1 Broken Packages

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

Edgefix 1.1.1

Press 'Okay'

Please help.

Ok, i fixed it.

This was by far the most painful and time consuming upgrade.

1. Upraded to firmware 2.1 with iTunes 8
- disconnected the iphone when completed and replug it back in.

2. Followed this guide:

Everything is back to normal.

to the op i had the same exact issue when i first upgraded and jailbroke my 1.1.4 1st gen iphone up to 2.1 . question did you leave the sim in when you jailbroke/unlocked it? i did and that caused it to not fully unlock tho it said it did. take out the sim and re pwn it with quickpwn then put your sim back in and reboot you should now have the " cellular data network' field which you go in and will have a field to put in a apn. let us know how it goes.

On your apn type epc.tmobile.com user & password leave blank then power ur phone off & then power up again and it should work.It work for me weather emails maps safari
