are there any ways to make spacers (blank icons) into shortcuts?
i.e a blank icon that leads you to the clock.app

Yeah, just add a blank icon with the name of the app into the icons folder in your Winterboard theme.

For your example, the blank icon would be named "Clock.png"

thanks but what if i want 2 blank icons for my clock.app
for example, either of the 2 "invisible" icons that when you press on would lead you to the clock.app

No idea if this would work but try duplicating the actual application folder for the app you want to duplicate (you'll have to find it in either your var/stash/applications folder or somewhere in your var/mobile/applications folder) and rename the duplicate to clock2.app (for example) then make another blank icon for that new app. Again, not sure if this would work, and one problem might be that whatever updates you make to the original won't change in the new app folder so proceed with caution.
