Dactyl, or what I like to call “Wack-a-Mole on steriods”, is great, simple, fun. It takes ones full concentration to play, and can truly consume one. The object is to 'diffuse' bombs by tapping them. They keep popping up at random, and will detonate if not tended to within about 2.5-3 seconds. Sounds easy right? At first, it is. But as time goes on, it gets harder and hard. I play with my two index fingers, my girlfriend, with her thumb. We have battles to see who can reach a score the other can not. I like the simplicity of the game, and that anyone can play it. I could teach my 6 yr old brother how to play this in less than a minute. If you are non-competitive, stay away! This game is for those who have to be the best! Graphics look good in this game. The animation that ...

genesis4iphone, from Zodttd, is a Sega Genesis/SegaCD emulator for the iPhone/iPod Touch. With this app you can play most of your favorite old Sega games from the early 90's. Most genesis roms run pretty well with no lag. Only the smaller SegaCD games, however, are usable. The more graphically intense SegaCD games are virtually unplayable. Overall, the sound is a pitched a little too high and it's better to have it switched off in the preferences. This will also give you a speed boost in terms of playability. Getting used to the touch screen controls is a little tricky and requires a little practice for those unused to Zod's other emulators. Once you get the hang of it, however, it becomes quite easy. Rom's can load a little slow but when compressed in .zip they load much faster. Overall an amazing app and another great emulator entry from Zod. Rom's are ...

iCopter is a basic, intensely fun and competitive game that will keep you and you friends hooked for hours. The point of the game is to keep your helicopter from crashing into an obstacle. Sounds simple right? Well it is. It's easy enough to pick up and play, but harder to get a high score that is higher than your friend's or even your own personal best. As your helicopter progressed forward, you touch the screen to go up, or let go to make the helicopter descend. Using these simple controls, you avoid the obstacles that are in put in front of you, while trying not to crash into the ground or sky. Yes, crashing in the sky is a possibility that makes the game that much more competitive. Screenshots:

I love simple, yet addicting, games. iCave is just that. This game is certainly not for the WoW or RO player. What's the object? Simple really- Guide your 'snake' through a cave without hitting the ceiling or floor, or the obstacles that are coming at you. Sounds easy right? Well this is where it gets addicting and difficult. The ceiling and floor progressively close in on you. Oh yeah, did I mention that you need to tap-and-hold on the screen to raise your 'snake' towards the ceiling, and release to let it fall towards the ground? Now we're in for an interestingly difficult experience. You'll find yourself saying, “One more time”- About 50,000 times! Graphics are about 8-bit, reminiscent of pre-Mario Bros., which adds a great retro feel to the game. Bugs are nonexistent, which makes for a fun time. All in all, this game is fun for when you have ...

One of the most well known computer games, especially to Windows users, is solitaire. When one is at school or work, most computers are restricted to what can be installed, therefore we have made due with the included windows games. iSolitaire translates perfectly over to the iPhone, and in this reviewers opinion, blows the official solitaire app for the iPod out of the water. We've all downloaded, at some point, solitaire for our mobile phones. Something tells us before we spend the $4.95 that it will be great. Of course it is terrible, barely playable, and then leads us to hate ourselves for wasting the five bucks. This app restores the good name of mobile solitaire, offering great controls and cool skins. In iSolitaire, game play is controlled by tapping-and-holding cards, and dragging them where we want them to go. Also, one can double tap a card to send it to the ...

Labyrinth is a game which may be considered as one of the most well known 3rd party Apps for the iPhone. Not only is it insanely addictive, but it has the "pick up and play" aspect, meaning whether you play it for a minute or for an hour, you'll find yourself having fun and being challenged constantly. Labyrinth is actually one of the first 3rd party Apps I downloaded through installer, after jailbreaking my 1.1.1 iPhone back in the day. This was an early version of labyrinth, but the simple "tilt the phone, move the ball" concept really amazed me - I thought the iPhone was going to become home of crappy mobile games, like almost every other mobile out there right now, but no, the iPhone has great potential, and Labyrinth made me realise that. So, what is Labyrinth? It's quite simple, really. The purpose of the game is to tilt ...

You can test out your semantic skills in this word scramble game available on both the iPhone and iPod Touch. Boggle your brain and work against the clock as you try to come up with as many words as you can in the time allotted. You will be amazed by how many words you don’t know. Points are racked up depending on how many of the six letters you use for a particular word. For example, PAN may give you only ...

Who doesn’t love the original Minesweeper game we all had on our PC’s? The Mines app is a perfect replacement for Minesweeper on the go!  The premise of the game is to find all the mines on the screen without actually tapping on them. Each box can have either a number or a mine.  To start you tap the “X” button on the bottom to start searching.  If the first square you tap is a mine, you fail at life, start over.  However, if you’re lucky enough to get a number keep tapping around.  Eventually a space will open up with numbers on the boarder.  Now for the juicy part, the numbers actually mean something.  The number in the square represents how many mines are touching that particular square.  For example, you get a square with the number “3” on it.  That means there are 3 mines touching that square, which ...

Neverball is created for the iphone.  If you like Monkey ball then you will like Neverball.  It is very similar to it.  Your goal is to get the required amount of coins and then enter the target to move on to the next level.  When you have collected 100 coins you get an extra ball.  This app. uses the accelerometer so you need to move your iphone to tilt the floor in the game to make your ball roll.  If you can’t see a certain angle you can always change your camera view by pressing the screen.  This game requires excellent control over your iphone, have to be very gentle.  I love this game, could be pretty addictive.  There are so many different levels and different maps it will never feel repetitive.  Have fun ladies and gentlemen.
