Instant messaging, email, and telephone are on the forefront of human telecommunications, but let us remember the classic cave wall, upon which the Neanderthal could doodle messages for his friends or tell stories with pictures. The updated version of this classic forum is apparently the urban brick wall, upon which delinquents can spray-paint their messages for all to see. Sean Heber of iApp-a-Day combines the old with the new in his app called Graffiti.

In the app, the user has the ability to post messages on a scrolling brick wall that anyone else using the app (who are connected to the internet) can see. To write on the wall, one must tap the screen to reveal a keyboard and option window. The user can also see the messages that other people have posted and write responses. Posts keep piling up until the oldest ones fade away. To keep the posts underneath visible, each new post pops up in a slightly different color. To control the angle at which the new post appears, one can tilt their iPhone/ iPod touch and the post will appear level with gravity. Though it may not be the most effective communication app, it certainly is better than actual vandalism, and will keep you running arguments with strangers for a long time.

You can download this app from installer using the iApp-a-Day source (http://www.iappaday.com/install/), and can visit http://www.iappaday.com to learn more about Sean Heber’s Graffiti app and his other iApp-a-Day programs.
