Guitar Chords
August 4, 2008 – 7:10 pm
Are you a musician, specifically a guitarist? Then you are in luck, because Guitar Chords is just for you. This app has pretty much every chord that you could think of playing on a six string, standard tuning, guitar. But it gets better! Scales are also included in this app. But we’re not talking simple one positions for each chord, there can be several different fingerings and fret positions available, which this app includes.
As far as features go: There is a fretboard picture for about the top 45% of the screen, and then the rest of the screen has the setting for what letter, and then suffix (maj, m, dim, etc…). The scales page is not much different, just substituting the suffix with the style of scale.
There is a ‘preferences’ page, which only consists of one setting at the moment, and that is for classic notation (toggle). However, for future release there appears to be a speaker icon in the bottom part of the screen that is greyed out. Perhaps a future revision will add the functionality of hearing the chord/scale that is selected. One can only hope. This app gets a B, only due to the lack of sound.
