IfastSwitch by Screw is a NICE app that brings easy, fast (not always, for the current version at least) and cool looking acces to wifi/bluetooth/ssh/airplane controls, and respring/reboot/switch off too. Before installing it, always remember to install the latest screwcommon (it wont work otherwise, and different screwcommon versions may [and most definitely WILL] give different options and results). Originally the app had only wifi/bt/airplane controls (that worked by tapping on them ONCE) and switch off/reboot/respring buttons that worked with a double tap. Also, in every version, there's an "info" box that takes a little while to load. Initially also,  the app was "started" by swiping your finger "diagonally" (it actually worked from up to down or right to left too) from the top  right corner of the screen, bellow the status bar. The app "slided" from right to left, but latter that changed to a diagonal slide,  to match the idea ...

Installer.app is the primary key to distribution of Mobile OS X apps to the iPhone/iPod touch hacking/modding community. It uses community maintained repositories to host all the apps and utilities that you see in the installation catagories screen. Installer.app downloads all of its apps via Wifi and EDGE (preferably Wifi for the larger apps). It will also automatically refresh its repository sources every 12 hours to ensure your apps are up to date. Installer has a beautiful and easy to navigate interface and has great easy to use functions for the not so technical users. Finding and installing apps and utilities is a breeze. Simply open the Installer.app and tap the Install icon on the bottom. This will bring you to a screen where you can scroll through catagories and even search all of the packages with a spotlight like feel. Uninstalling Apps that you don't want anymore is just as ...

Intelliscreen is probably going to be the most useful program you’re ever going to have. What it does is show you your RSS feed, weather, email and even SMS all conveniently on your “Slide to Unlock” screen. Intelliscreen is an essential app I use every day. When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is check the weather, and what’s easier than just checking my “Slide to Unlock” screen? When I’m bored at school, I can easily check the news on Digg.com. Intelliscreeen also has an option where you can switch to another screen. My first screen shows my RSS Feeds and the weather. When I double-click on the clock, the screen does a flip animation and shows my SMS’s and emails. All of these are all customizable by the way. The only problem I find in Intelliscreen is that the way you customize your layout is pretty buggy. ...

Iphone VideoRecorder by Dream Catcher (http://www.iphonevideorecorder.com/) allows us to take videos with our Iphone. The app is not free if you want full functionality, if you don’t pay the license videos are limited to 30 secs, you can’t change the default signature, and there is a limit to the number of videos you can take while “trying” the app. The license costs us$19. To install the app, add the following repository for installer: http://www.iphonevideorecorder.com/install After refreshing sources, the app will appear under multimedia. The main screen provides us with the list of taken videos (encoded or not yet encoded), the “capture” button (nice camera button in the middle), and the configuration button. When we select a video we can watch it, share it (YouTube or e-mail), rename it or delete it. Also, if encoding wasn’t done, we can finish it. The general configuration screen has 2 options: 1-    A switch for enabling/disable the auto-start encoding option 2-    Enable/disable ...

My viewpoint, when it came to electronics, was not always complement of my university's single-minded philosophy.  We did not see eye to eye when it came to iPods, phones, and handheld gaming systems, especially in classes.  Listening to music allows any kind of student to release his or her stress in order to stay awake in difficult classes, especially Organic Chemistry.  iPlot, developed by Markus Sintonen, gives students an excuse to bring their iPods into class, listen to music, and actually do something productive with their precious time. iPlot is the first application of its kind, because it is a graphing application that has been designed to plot multiple functions in a variety of colors at the same time.  Graphing parabolic, linear, and exponential functions are completed with the press of a single button.  Additional, iPlot contains the elements of a true graphing calculator.  It has support for trigonometric functions, Zoom, ...

iScores is a native iPhone application. It gathers scores on a wide variety of different sports for your viewing pleasure. Currently the sports supported are Soccer, Tennis, baseball, ice hockey, basketball, football, and formula 1 racing. It is available from installer.app from the modmyi.com repository. Select your sport from the main page, then it will display different leagues or different tournaments depending on the sport. (I selected tennis, then Wimbeldon, then it will show the only match going on today. You can click on it to see an expanded view) Pros: - A wide variety of sports scores delivered to your iPhone or iPod touch. - Great for the sports fan on the go. - Great potential for further development. - Very fast over edge. Cons: - UI is lacking. - Some scores are displayed oddly. If you like sports, I recommend this application to check on your sports scores on the go. I can't wait to see the updates ...

iSlsk is, in the developer's words, is "a P2P Soulseek client that lets you download music and listen to it on your Music Player". In other words, it enables you to download music to your iPhone or iPod Touch, and once it is done downloading, import it to your iPod and listen to it there. The application is very well developed with very few bugs, and even can run and download music in the background without being open. Now we will take a look at the functions and features of iSlsk. When the app is first opened you get a login screen where, if this is your first time, you enter your login information, and your account is created automatically. This screen is also how you reach the settings and may touch a button to donate if you want to. Let's look at the settings. On the Settings screen, you have ...

One of the most well known computer games, especially to Windows users, is solitaire. When one is at school or work, most computers are restricted to what can be installed, therefore we have made due with the included windows games. iSolitaire translates perfectly over to the iPhone, and in this reviewers opinion, blows the official solitaire app for the iPod out of the water. We've all downloaded, at some point, solitaire for our mobile phones. Something tells us before we spend the $4.95 that it will be great. Of course it is terrible, barely playable, and then leads us to hate ourselves for wasting the five bucks. This app restores the good name of mobile solitaire, offering great controls and cool skins. In iSolitaire, game play is controlled by tapping-and-holding cards, and dragging them where we want them to go. Also, one can double tap a card to send it to the ...
