The new guide describes using OpenVPN on the PC to make it connected over iphone's GPRS/EDGE/3G Internet via USB cable. No extra socks-proxy settings on PC, no additional ssh-tunnels for mails, RDP or VNC. FULL Internet access over OpenVPN tunnel. External openvpn server PC needed.

OpenSSH must be installed on the iphone. iTunes should be installed on the client openvpn PC.
